First Bites

First foods with readiness, nutrients and sources in view.

Lullalog keeps preparation guidance behind corrected-age and readiness checks, organizes food examples by stage and group, adds evidence-linked nutrient context, and gives you a private place to log what was actually offered.

General education and logging—not individualized feeding advice.

Lullalog First Bites journey showing readiness, texture stage, food groups and illustrated foods
Readiness before preparationAge is not treated as readiness by itself; preparation details stay behind a readiness confirmation.
Nutrient context stays sourcedFood composition and general nutrient roles trace to named public-health and nutrition sources.
Logging stays factualRecord foods, textures and observations without turning a log entry into a recommendation.

Designed around a real feeding journey

Separate learning, unlocking and logging.

That separation helps Lullalog show useful options without implying that every child of the same age should eat the same food or texture.

01

Review readiness

Corrected developmental age and a five-sign readiness check gate the food-preparation experience.

02

Browse the current stage

Explore 20 single-food examples and 8 clearly labeled family-food examples by texture stage, food group and optional family-food collection.

03

Log what happened

Record the food, texture and observations. Factual logging remains distinct from guidance.

Know what is in each bite

Nutrient context without false certainty.

Every food card includes evidence-linked nutrient highlights. Each highlight identifies the food source and explains the nutrient’s general role while acknowledging that composition varies by variety and preparation.

  • Nutrient composition and general-role sources are recorded separately.
  • Texture, preparation and allergen cues stay beside the food.
  • Family-food examples—including khichdi-style mash and congee—are labeled as examples, not cuisine-specific schedules.
  • Source links and the educational-use disclaimer remain available from the detail view.

For example, Lullalog links to the CDC’s infant iron guidance and FDA food-allergen information. This context is not a prescribed menu or a substitute for your child’s clinician.

Options without false precision

Family foods can be familiar without becoming medical advice.

Food collections can make ideas easier to browse across different family traditions while core safety, readiness and texture guidance remains consistent.

  • Eight family-food examples add familiar context, including Indian, Chinese, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, Latin American, Caribbean, West African and East African collections.
  • Future texture stages remain visible but locked until the relevant stage.
  • Preparation notes prioritize age-appropriate texture and food-safety cues.
  • Food records use the same optional iCloud caregiver sync path as other care logs.

General feeding and food-safety information is traced to the CDC, FDA, USDA WIC, and FoodSafety.gov. Ask your child’s clinician about individual readiness, allergy risk, growth or feeding concerns.

Common questions

A food tracker should not pretend to be a clinician.

Does reaching an age automatically unlock preparation guidance?

No. First Bites also asks you to confirm readiness signs, and corrected developmental age is used when provided.

Can I log a food before guidance unlocks?

Yes. Factual logging remains available and is labeled as logging, not as an age-based recommendation.

Does Lullalog diagnose an allergy?

No. You can record observations, but the app does not diagnose reactions or replace urgent care or clinician advice.

Can caregivers share the same food history?

Yes, when the child profile is shared through optional iCloud caregiver sharing.
