Frequently asked questions
Is Lullalog really free? What's the catch?
Yes — fully free, no ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription. Lullalog is built by an indie developer who got tired of paying $80/year for baby trackers that demanded an account. There is no catch.
Where is my data stored?
Your tracking data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you choose to enable iCloud sync or caregiver sharing, supported records are also stored in your private or shared iCloud database; Lullalog does not operate an account server. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I sync data across multiple devices?
Yes — enable Settings → iCloud Sync & Sharing to sync your own children across your devices via your personal iCloud account. Your data stays in your iCloud; Lullalog never sees it.
You can also accept a shared child profile from another caregiver (partner, grandparent). Shared profiles appear with a 🔗 badge, and caregivers with edit access can log care, update milestones, and mark Play & Learn ideas done.
Until sync is enabled, transfer a child profile between devices via AirDrop in Settings.
How does sharing a child with my partner work?
In Settings → iCloud Sync & Sharing, tap Share on a child profile to send a CloudKit invite. When your partner accepts, Lullalog mirrors the shared child profile locally and keeps care logs in sync through Apple's shared CloudKit database.
If one caregiver just logged an entry, pull to refresh or tap the Sync button on the shared banner for an immediate check. The app also shows newly logged co-parent entries right away while CloudKit finishes the round trip.
If Lullalog detects a duplicate profile (same name and similar date of birth), you'll be prompted to merge or keep both separate.
How do I switch between multiple children?
Add additional children in Settings → Children. Switch the active child via the menu in the top-left corner of the dashboard.
How does Play & Learn choose an activity?
Play & Learn only chooses from the activity band available for the child’s developmental age. If you provide gestational age for a premature baby, Lullalog uses corrected age for activity selection. Every idea also has an explicit minimum age, an age label, simple instructions, and safety guidance.
These are general play ideas, not developmental screening or medical advice. Stay with your child, follow their cues, and stop if either of you is uncomfortable.
How do developmental milestones work?
Open Track → Milestones & Photos. Lullalog shows the CDC checklist for your child’s current developmental age; choose All ages to review other stages. Tap a milestone’s illustrated row for more context, or use the circle to record it and adjust the reached date.
CDC checklists begin at 2 months, so Lullalog does not show a checklist as due before then. Milestones are informational, not a screening or diagnostic tool. If you have concerns about development or your child has lost skills, talk with their clinician.
How do I add the home screen widgets?
Long-press an empty area of your home screen → tap the + in the top-left corner → search for "Lullalog" → choose a widget size and add it. Lullalog includes Status, Quick Log, Active Timer, and StandBy widgets.
How do I import data from Huckleberry?
Export your Huckleberry data as a CSV from their app, then in Lullalog go to Settings → Import from Huckleberry and select the CSV file.
Will the app work on iPad or Mac?
Lullalog is designed for iPhone for one-handed use during caregiving. It runs on iPad and Mac (Apple Silicon) but the layout is optimized for iPhone.
How do I enable the Apple Watch app?
The Watch app installs automatically alongside the iPhone app if you have an Apple Watch paired. Open the Watch app on your iPhone and verify Lullalog is in the "Available Apps" list to install.
Can I use Siri Shortcuts to log events?
Yes. Try saying "Hey Siri, start a sleep timer" or "Hey Siri, log a wet diaper" once you've set up the shortcuts in the Shortcuts app or via Settings → Siri.
How do I restore data if I delete the app?
Deleting the app removes local data from that device. With iCloud Sync enabled, your own data can be restored by reinstalling and signing into the same iCloud account. Shared child profiles can also recover from iCloud after reinstall when the same Apple ID still has access to the share. We still recommend periodic CSV exports from Settings → Export.
Why isn't the night-sleep timer pausing during a feed?
By design — sleep timers and feed timers can run simultaneously so you can track the actual duration of each. Use the Pause button on the breastfeeding timer if you need to interrupt without ending the session.
How do I report a bug?
Email support@lullalog.app with a description of what you expected, what actually happened, and which iPhone model + iOS version you're on. Screenshots help a lot.
